All District

i agree, voting is done way too early for anybody to get their fair chance of being recognized.

Being voted to the All-LPD team means absolutely squat compared to what it meant 10, 15, or even 20 years ago. Baseball, Basketball, or Football. It is all political and doesn't have a "real" meaning anymore.

I feel there should only be 1 person voted for each position, not 3, 4, or sometimes 5, no matter what school you are from. It has no meaning. Heck, back in the day when somebody made All District Honorable Mention that was still a half way decent honor because there were only 2 other guys in front of you in the whole district and no 8 or 10.

Well guys to be honest all this All District, All Region, All State stuff don't mean a thing. We all know it's politics and the coaches that kiss the most [censored] get the most All District players. All the true sports fans on here know who the best players and best coach in the LPD is.

i say cut it to a 5 man 1st team and a 5 man 2nd team with 2 or 3 horable mentions.

Exactly!! This no first team and second team, just all district and POY is crap!!

Everyone seems to agree that this years choices were bad ones,(althought I don't totally agree) then who should have made all-district, POY, and COY?

All im saying is that Cody Salyer averaged about 12ppg and almost 4 rpg. He was also apart of the triple scoring threat that GC had this year. Heck if your going to put everybody in the lpd on the all-district team atleast put a guy who actually deserves it on their. Most people don't work as hard as Cody does.

Personally I would take the district championship, District tourny championship, Region D Championship, and Runner Up in the state over any individual award anyday.

It just so happened that one of the players that were key ingredients to that team didn't land the player of the year.. I'm sure that they would have rather have all the team awards that they accomplished.

Congrats to all the players who made all-district. And to the Gate City basketball team on their season.
